BSDAS Choir maintained their first runner-up title in the annual Baguio Country Club Interschool Christmas Carol Competition held on December 7, 2008. Earlier the group grabbed a smaller trophy plus one thousand pesos for winning the Best in Costume award; thus, the group brought home two trophies and a total of eleven thousand peso cash prize.

Two weeks before the competition, choir director Wayne Valera called for a meeting with the parents of the members to decide the group’s costume. They agreed to buy one that depicts SDA’s standards and which they can use on other occasions. April Olga Dao-ayan, Naedilyn Molina, Vivien Loryn Pascua, and Karen Ysabel Walsiyen designed the ladies’ red dress secured in the waist by a 3-inch black cloth belt and trimmed with white fur on the hem. A pair of black open-toe shoes completed the girls’ costume which went well with the boys’ green tee-shirt topped with transparent barong and complemented with black slacks and black leather shoes.

The competition lasted for six hours, for there were 15 entries from the elementary level, 11 from the high school, and 5 from the college level. The chilly breeze that filled the venue did not dampen down the enthusiasm of the participants and the spectators who momentarily ignored hunger pains as they awaited the announcement of winners. After the program BSDAS choir and some teachers proceeded to SM Food Court for dinner.
